Ricardo has a wealth of skills, experience and expertise in the field of chassis design and vehicle dynamics development. These are available to customers as an integral part of our full vehicle engineering programmes as well as for the troubleshooting and problem resolution of known issues on existing products.

Key aspects of the Ricardo service:

• Complete prototype to production chassis design and development capability across passenger car and commercial vehicle applications, including suspension, engine mounts, steering and braking systems
• Application of advanced CAE simulation methods including linear, non-linear and fatigue based finite element analysis, to ensure maximum chassis durability, and structural optimization
• Vehicle dynamics simulation using ADAMS, including kinematics and compliance target setting, prototype specification and full vehicle analysis
• Development against subjective criteria, including target setting, agreement and sign off control, customer evaluation monitoring and response
• Objective testing and development, including vehicle dynamics analysis and confirmation, model correlation, objective vehicle target setting, characterization, and sign off, and control algorithm development
