Advanced Tools and Technologies
Ricardo has a range of advanced simulation tools that it uses to rapidly prove out new concepts, minimise hardware commitments and optimise product solutions. These tools cover crash and vehicle rollover simulation, mine blast simulation and structural strength analysis tools.
A major area of focus for Ricardo’s R&D activities is hybrid system integration, including system design, vehicle build and productionisation. Our experience covers micro, full parallel and series hybrid configurations. The focus of this research is on developing solutions that can be applied to existing military vehicle fleets so that the benefits of hybrid technology (increased fuel economy, increased failure tolerance, export power, silent watch etc.) can be realised in a cost effective manner.
